Excited to know who was that 1st lady beauty?? You gotta rewind Miss India book of histories.I did mention a brief description from 1964 to till date here of all the Indian women who achieved beauty crown.

Pooja Chopra Beauty With A Purpose (Miss World title 2009) Miss India World 2009 Pooja also won Miss Beautiful Smile and Miss Beautiful Body title at the Miss India 2009 pageant. She represented India at the Miss World 2009 pageant and won the Beauty with a cause title. Pooja did a cameo in Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Fashion. Ekta Chowdhary: Miss India Universe 2009 This unconventional beauty represented India at the Miss Universe 2009 but could not make it to the semi-finals. She is the grand daughter of Delhi’s first CM Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Yadav. Shriya Kishore: Miss India Earth 2009 Shriya has done her hotel management. She was a semifinalist in the Miss Earth 2009 pageant. Harshita Saxena: Miss India International 2009 She abandoned a BBA degree in Canada to pursue her Miss India dream, and represented India in Miss International 2009. Parvathy Omanakuttan Nair Miss World 2008, Ist runner up Miss India World 2008 This doe-eyed beauty from god’s own country, Kerala, became the first runner-up in the Miss World 2008 pageant. Parvathy aspires to be an actress. Simran Kaur Mundi: Miss India Universe 2008 A PR and marketing maverick, she works for a cinema chain. She participated in the Miss Universe 2008 held in US. Tanvi Vyas: Miss India Earth 2008 Poised and elegant Tanvi Vyas won the Femina Miss India Earth 2008 and participated in Miss Earth 2008. Radha Brahmbhatt: Miss India International 2008 This NRI Gujrati beauty is from Northwood, London. She represented India in Miss International 2008. Her interests lie in modeling and acting. Sarah-Jane Dias : Miss India World 2007 Sarah was a famous VJ before she won Femina Miss India and was in the top 20 in the Miss World 2007. Puja Gupta: Miss India Universe 2007 Puja aspires for a career in Tinseltown. This multi talented attractive girl made it to the top 10 of Miss Universe pageant. Pooja Chitgopekar: Miss India Earth 2007 This New Zealand-based beauty won the Miss Earth Air while representing India at the Miss Earth 2007. Pooja is currently pursuing her Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery from University of Auckland. Esha Gupta: Miss India International 2007 Esha has a striking resemblance to Hollywood actor Angelina Jolie. She represented India in Miss International 2007. Natasha Suri: Miss India World 2006 This stunning woman has won eight beauty pageants like Navy Queen, Miss Maharashtra, Get gorgeous-1, before participating in the Miss India pageant. She represented India in Miss World and was in the top 10. She is now a well-known model and was awarded the "Pillar of Hindustani Society" award in 2008 for her achievements in the fashion industry. Neha Kapur: Miss India Universe 2006 A trained classical dancer, Neha has four years of training in Bharatanatyam and eight years in Kathak. She represented India in the Miss Universe 2006 and made it to the semi-finals. Kapur holds a degree in fashion designing and is now an established runaway model. Amruta Patki: Miss India Earth 2006 Miss Earth 2006 Amruta represented India with grace and epitome which won her the crown. Sonali Sehgal: Miss India International 2006 A model by proffesion she has walked the ramp for many designers and has also done commercials. Sonali's strength lies in her versatility. Sindhura Gadde: Miss India World 2005 A fiery Leo, this lovely lass won the Miss India 2005 and was in the Top 10 contenders during the Miss World 2005 pageant. She has also done a few movies in Bollywood. Mihika Verma: Miss India International 2004 Mihika Verma, Miss India International 2004, is a popular television actress. She has acted in popular serials like Viruddh. Shwetha Vijay: Miss India Earth 2003 Won many beauty contests prior to winning Femina Miss India Earth 2003. Acting, dancing and singing are her passion and she is now a successful regional film actress. Shonali Nagrani : Miss India International 2003 Shonali won the Femina Miss India International and was the first runner-up at Miss International 2003, Tokyo. Shonali is now a model, actress and has hosted a number of shows including cricket matches. Shonal Rawat: Miss India Asia-Pacific 2003 This long-legged beauty, won the Femina Miss India Asia Pacific and was a favorite among judges in the Miss Asia Pacific 2003. Tatyana Nikitina of Russia won the title despite giving a similar answer in the final question. However, Shonal won three awards Miss Talent, Miss Congeniality and Best in Filipino Terno. She was the first runner up in the competition. Shruti Sharma: Miss India World 2002 This green-eyed girl, tried for the contest in 1999 too. 	Diya Mirza Miss Asia Pacific 2000 Miss India Asia Pacific 2000 Delicacy, poise, elegance and brains define Diya Mirza. This heavenly beauty from Hyderabad, won the prestigious Miss Asia-Pacific title and is an actress now.
	Gul Panag: Miss India Universe 1999 She has tremendous faith in herself. After obtaining a doctorate in developmental economics she entered the media, inspired by her newsreader aunt, Komal G B Singh. She is now an actress in Bollywood.
	Yukta Mookhey Miss World 1999 Miss India World 1999 Her serenity and calm shone throughout the pageant. This 5'11'' tall brunette took London's Olympia theatre by storm and was crowned Miss World. Yukta Mookhey did a few films before settling down with Prince Tuli. She now has a baby boy.
	Shivangi Parikh: Miss India Asia-Pacific 1999 The stage was not new for Shivangi who was a professional model and had done a few music videos. And yet, she could not help feeling the 'butterflies in her stomach' as she answered the final question which won her the crown. She comperes a lot of shows and is a successful ramp model.
	Lymaraina D'souza: Miss India Universe 1998 Femina Miss India-Universe 1998 Lymaraina D'Souza was a tomboy who had never touched make-up before the pageant. But her determined helped her win the pageant. After the Miss Universe contest she went to Hawaii to study Psychology.
	Annie Thomas: Miss India World 1998 Annie had participated in 1996 too, but did not make it to the finals. Undeterred, she sent her application in 1998 and was lucky the second time round. She became a successful TV star.
	Vitika Aggarwal: Miss India Asia-Pacific 1998 The girl with honey eyes and sparkling smile had long harboured the dream of winning the Miss India crown, Vitika won the Miss India Asia-Pacific in 1998. She is a successful ramp model.
	Nafisa Joseph: Miss India Universe 1997 Winning the Femina Miss India crown did not come as a big surprise to her. She portrayed great confidence at the Miss Universe pageant as well, and in reply to one of the questions, she said that, to bring a child into the world and not able to offer it peace was the biggest injustice done in the world. Nafisa passed away on 29 July 2004.

	Pooja Batra: Miss India Asia-Pacific 1993 Pooja took up Bollywood after winning Miss India. She got married to a US based doctor, Sonu Ahluwalia and shifted base.
	Madhu Sapre Miss Universe 1992, 2nd runner up Miss India Universe 1992 This leggy lass and winner of Femina Miss India 1992 came within touching distance of the Miss Universe crown but was pipped by her own honesty. She still is the eternal ramp favourite. At the 1992 Miss Universe pageant, she finished third (2nd runner up).
	Ritu Singh: Miss India Asia World 1991 Ritu won the second runner-up title at the Miss Asia World pageant. She took up modelling and compering. It was during one of her shows that she met her future husband. Today, she lives in Nepal and manages a boutique.

	Suzanne Sablok: Miss India Universe 1989/90 She created ripples at the Miss Universe contest by coming eighth. After the pageant, she was a leading model and, at the peak of her career, quit modelling to marry the man she loved, Rajesh Pillai and shifted to Australia.
	Dolly Minhas: Miss India 1988 Winning the contest was a matter of chance for this light-eyed Chandigarh beauty. Soon after winning the contest, she opted for a career in acting. She fell in love with the director of her first film, Anil Matoo, whom she eventually married. Dolly acted in Kannada movies and television shows.
	Priyadarshini Pradhan: Miss India 1987 If she had not won the Miss India title, she would have been an architect. She won the best national costume award at the Miss Universe pageant. Later, she obtained a management degree on the insistence of her parents, but finally flew as an air hostess with Kuwait Airways.
	Mehr Jessia: Miss India 1986 Perhaps one of the most popular models in India, Mehr today manages a successful model management agency in partnership with Vijay Mallaya, the liquor baron. And she's happily married to actor, Arjun Rampal.
	Sonu Walia: Miss India 1985 A psychology graduate and a student of journalism, Sonu Walia took up modelling before she entered the Miss India contest. After winning the title, she embarked on a career in film acting and won accolades for her performances.
	Juhi Chawla: Miss India 1984 She is probably among the finest model-turned-actresses that we have today. She got married to millionnaire Jay Mehta in 1996. The enterprising lady has now started a film production company with actor Shah Rukh Khan and director Aziz Mirza, and is the co-owner of Kolkata IPL team.
	Rekha Hande: Miss India 1983 Miss Garden City, Spring Queen, Pond's Queen, May Queen, Aero Princess, Giants Queen and Eve's Weekly first runner-up, followed by the Miss India crown. She was truly a beauty queen with merits to prove it. However, Rekha did not pursue this glamorous field. She soon got married to a doctor in the US. And started working for charity organisations.
	Pamela Singh: Miss India 1982 Her bone structure caught everyone's eye even then. Our Miss India 1982, however, went on to attract more notoriety than fame. Now, she is a serious photo-journalist and keeps as low a profile as someone with her looks can.
	Rachita Kumar: Miss India 1981 She always considered herself a good model. And winning the Miss India title came as a pleasant surprise to her. By the time the fizz of the Miss India title settled, it was almost one-and-a-half years and, by then, Rachita had married and started a new life. Today, people know her by the name Nandini Thackersey.

	Sangeeta Bijlani: Miss India 1980 A name to reckon with on the ramp, Sangeeta switched to acting in Hindi films before she married the famous cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin. She and Azhar have launched their own production company, which produces television serials.
	Swaroop Sampat: Miss India 1979 She starred in the many popular television serials like Yeh joh hai jindagi , and launched her career as an actress. She leads a happy married life with Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal.
	Alamjeet Chauhan: Miss India 1978 Alamjeet won the best national costume award at the Miss Universe contest. Presently, she is a practising Supreme Court lawyer.
	Nalini Vishwanathan: Miss India 1977 She created history by refusing to participate in the Miss Universe pageant in compliance to her father's stand as he would not allow his daughter to walk down the ramp in a swimsuit. Now she is married to Sanjeev Walia, marketing manager with Telstra Communications, Nalini lives in Delhi.
	Naina Balsaver: Miss India 1976 The only Miss India who withdrew from the Miss World pageant due to India's protest against apartheid, Naina married politician Akbar Ahmed and even contested in the Indian parliamentary elections. She is currently busy with her dream project: A wildlife reserve.
	Meenakshi Kurpad: Miss India 1975 Meenakshi maintained a low profile after she won the crown and, hence, little is known about her.
	Shailini Dholakia: Miss India 1974 Shailini was a semi-finalist in Miss Universe pageant. She refused to work in movies and decided to travel the world with a man who offered her security. She is well settled in California and is the director of 4 companies of the Comfort Star Group.
	Farzana Habib: Miss India 1973 "That evening changed my life: I was crowned Miss Delhi ; became Miss India in Bombay and fled to Greece..." said Farzana. From Greece, she went to the US, where she learnt the art of sculpting. She met a brilliant lawyer, Andrew Levy, whom she finally married.
	Roopa Satyan: Miss India 1972 After graduation, she won the Femina Miss India 1972 title. Unfortunately, Roopa had a bitter divorce.
	Raj Gill: Miss India 1971 She lives by her motto Per Ardua Ad Astra which means "by steep and toilsome ways to the stars". Well, she did reach the stars by winning the Miss India title in 1971. And, today, she still shines brightly. At present, she is living in London, and is the director of a multinational company.

	Veena Sajnani: Miss India 1970 After winning the title, she continued modelling for some time. She also took up acting and featured in a number of television serials and finally got into fashion designing. She got married and settled in Bangalore.
	Zeenat Aman Miss Asia Pacific 1970 Miss India Asia Pacific 1970 In 1970, Zeenat made India proud by bringing in the crown of Miss Asia Pacific International. She stood second in the Miss India contest that year. She is still remembered for her ‘bold & the beautiful’ onscreen image.
	Kavita Bhambani: Miss India 1969 Unlike others who went on to become homemakers, successful models or actresses, Kavita became a successful interior designer. She championed the cause of Indian art and architecture.
	Anjum Mumtaz Barg: Miss India 1968 She came from the conservative city of Hyderabad, and entered the competition for fun. Anjum made history by winning the title. Today, she is happily married to a neurosurgeon in the United States.
	Nayyara Mirza: Miss India 1967 In the sixties, Nayyara Mirza defied all oppositions and took a bold step by participating in Femina's Beauty Contest. On her return from the Miss Universe contest, she was inundated with offers for movies. However, she refused all and preferred to settle down in holy matrimony. Today, she is known by the name of Nalini Patel.
	Yasmin Daji: Miss India 1966 Then 19, Yasmin, a medical student from Delhi, not only won the Miss India crown but also went to be the runner-up at the Miss Universe contest later that year. She returned home and completed her studies. Today, Yasmin is happily married and settled in New York.
	Reita Faria Miss World 1966 Miss India World 1966 This young medical student from Mumbai created history in 1966 by becoming the first Indian to be crowned Miss World. After enjoying a year of fame, she quit modeling and decided to concentrate more on her medical studies. She married to David Powell, Reita now lives in Dublin, Ireland. She is a mother of two girls and is a grandmother now.
	Persis Khambatta: Miss India 1965 She starred in the highly popular series Star Trek , for which she is remembered even today. Newsweek called her the Sophia Lauren of India. She was the brain behind Pride of India , a comprehensive compilation of all Miss India winners 1947 to 1997. Persis passed away in 1998.
	Meher Mistry / Castelino: Miss India 1964 After the pageant, Meher returned to modelling. She also took up writing features on fashion in reputed magazines. She has authored two books, Manstyle and Fashion Kaleidoscope. At present, this proud mother of two is much sought-after fashion critic.
